In this lecture I present a spiritual perspective on the Law of Cure and the “Healing Crisis”. At some point, we each have to make a final reckoning concerning what part of ourselves we are giving our lives to. When we take a stand for greater integrity all the forces of inertia and cynicism will rise up within us. What we do will ultimately determine the outcome of our lives and forge our destiny through the choices we make. Humans are the only form of matter that can radically change the course of life in any moment through making a choice.
Similarly, when a patient chooses to really change there will come a moment of reckoning. The ego knows exactly what sensations, emotions, and thoughts to generate to shift out attention off our goal. As we reach the tipping point to really beat a habit and become more wholethe dysfunctional qi that is leaving can trigger a system wide response. Symptoms worsen and with that comes cynicism and doubt regarding our ability to attain our goal and all the progress that has been made. It’s the choice we make at such turning points that define our character and forge the integrity that is health.
It’s imperative for any integral healer to understand the dynamics of the turning point, not just intelectualy but within themselves. Such an understanding only comes from paying the price for greater integrity.
